Andrea Hope Elson is a former actress who was born in the United States on March 6, 1969. Elson began her professional career as a child actress and model. However, she is probably best known for her roles as Alice Tyler on the CBS science-fiction adventure series Whiz Kids and as Lynn Tanner on the NBC comedy series ALF. Both of these roles earned the then-teenage actress two nominations for the Youth in Film Award in the years 1986 and 1989.
She had an elder sister named Samantha who was born in the year 1966 and they all lived in New York City during her childhood. When Elson was still a little child, his family relocated from Westchester County, New York to San Diego, California, where they remained for a total of four years before moving back to Westchester County. Elson got her start in the entertainment industry as a child actress and model. She was featured in a number of print advertisements as well as television commercials. While she was still a child and living in San Diego, she took part in a number of shows at a local community theater.
Elson made her debut on television in 1983, at the age of 14, with a co-starring part on the CBS mystery-adventure series Whiz Kids. This move to Los Angeles with her family preceded her first appearance on television. Elson played the role of Alice Tyler on the show, which starred a gang of young detectives (played by Matthew Laborteaux, Todd Porter, and Jeffrey Jacquet) who used a talking computer to help them solve crimes and bring the criminals to justice. Elson co-starred on the show with Matthew Laborteaux, Todd Porter, and Jeffrey Jacquet.
Despite the fact that only one season of Whiz Kids was produced, Elson’s portrayal as Alice helped establish the then-14-year-old actress and her teenage co-stars as significant fixtures in the numerous teen magazines of the day, such as 16 magazine, Bop, and Teen Beat, amongst others. Elson and the rest of the cast of Whiz Kids had a crossover appearance on an episode of Simon & Simon from 1983 called “Fly the Alibi Skies” because of the part that Elson played.
Elson gained co-starring status on the NBC science-fiction situation comedy ALF in the year 1986 after landing a role on the show. Elson played the role of Lynn Tanner, the adolescent daughter of a regular middle-class suburban family who take in and raise a friendly alien, which was portrayed by Paul Fusco, a puppeteer. Before it was canceled in 1990, the series had aired for a total of four seasons, during which time Elson’s portrayal of the character garnered her two nominations for the Youth in Film Award.
After the cancellation of ALF, Elson continued to appear in a variety of roles on television. He had guest starring roles on a number of popular television series at the time, such as Who’s the Boss?, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, ABC Afterschool Special, Married… with Children, Mad About You, Step by Step, and The Young and the Restless. Additionally, he had roles in the television films Class Cruise and Frankenstein: The College Years.

She played the role of Alice Tyler on the science-fiction adventure series Whiz Kids, which aired on CBS, and she played the role of Lynn Tanner on the NBC comedy series ALF, which aired on NBC. Both of these roles earned the teenage actress two nominations for the Youth in Film Award, one in 1986 and one in 1989.
At the age of eleven, when she was cast as Alice in a production of “Alice in Wonderland” for her sixth grade class, Andrea Hope Elson had her first realization that she loved acting. This actress with green eyes was born in New York City on March 6, 1969, although she spent most of her childhood moving across the country because her father worked in advertising.
She had previously called the cities of New York, Chicago, San Diego, and Los Angeles home before she turned ten years old. While Andrea was in San Diego, she was able to obtain an agent and win the first role for which she tried out. It was for a commercial, and after that, one acting job after another followed in quick succession. She was cast in recurring roles on the television series Simon & Simon (1981), Silver Spoons (1982), and Whiz Kids (1983), as well as guest-starring roles on both of those shows.
